Hi Frank,
So glad to hear you had a full recovery. I think Jill was very clinically oriented to begin with and it just so happened that the clinical part of her brain took turns being active during her stroke. But who know? Thanks for stopping by!

I have had a stroke (full recovered, I am a lucky fella) and I have read Jill's book. my only criticism is I find it had to believe that one could be so "clinical" in their thinking while their brain was under assault. Nonetheless, it was a good read!

Thanks for your comment, Meg. I remember that study and I also remember a 60
Minutes interview with a well known CEO of a Fortune 500 company who took a
20 minute nap at his desk every afternoon at 3pm. He stated that it greatly
increased his productivity.

Great entry, Christine. A while back, there was research done on allowing employees to nap at work. The result was that those employees who took part were more productive than those who didn't. I know during that an economic downturn, we employers try to get the most our of our workers for the least cost. But "cost" can be measured in many ways.

Thanks so much for sharing your process! I'm sure my readers will find this
of value, especially those whose productivity involves creativity.

The kind of focus painting takes is different than cooking or cleaning. It is similar to writing but not reading. I can paint for short periods of time, and then I have to get up and clean something or go into a deep, restful place. Or play the fiddle.
